Royal Holloway is looking for sports stars of the future

/News Release Agency - EventsPressReleases.com/ Royal Holloway, University of London is introducing performance sports bursaries through its Student Talented Athlete Recognition Scheme (STARS) to attract students
to contribute to its sports teams and represent the College.

Five teams - men's rugby, women's hockey, women's lacrosse and men and women's basketball teams illustrated the potential to compete at a performance level last year. With support from the College and Students' Union the teams have improved their approach to competitive sport and helped further the overall position of Royal Holloway in the British University College Sport (BUCS) national rankings.

In return for their dedication to training and performance the teams receive; professional coaching, strength and conditioning advice, lifestyle and nutrition lectures and extra administrative support from Sports Development and the Students Union.

Mark Hyndman, Sports Development Executive at Royal Holloway, says "We are looking for athletes at a performance level whether they play regional or national level in one of the five sports we've mentioned. To continue the development of these teams there is a commitment to recruiting performance student athletes into the programme. We are hoping this package will attract new and existing students who will be able to contribute to our sports teams as well as support their academic studies and personal development._
